AKL Executive Speaker Series

  • The Alumni of Alpha Kappa Lambda are committed to the development of our members and the growth of their minds as future leaders. With over 1100 alumni, we create opportunities for the men on campus to meet and learn from business and societal leaders that once walked the halls of Gamma Chapter.

     

    The Executive Series takes place in the intimacy of Gamma’s Chief Illiniwek Leadership classroom. Our Alumni engage the men in debate on issues of the day; we hope the table discussions provide inspiration for new inquiry while we explore issues of interest to the men.

     

    Gamma Chapter regularly hosts the forums as our alumni share their life learnings, experiences, passions, and provide advice for the men as they prepare for life and their careers. We have selected themes as part of our agenda:

    The Gamma Executive Series is open to all members, prospective members, and friends of the fraternity.

  • October 20th, 2010

     

    Steve Goreham is an author, researcher, engineer and speaker on global warming.  He holds a M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois and an MBA from the University of Chicago. Steve is the Global Outsourcing Delivery Lead for Accenture.  He is a distinquished alumnus of Alpha Kappa Lambda, Gamma chapter.  Both critics and scientists have given rave reviews to his recent book, Climatism! Science, Common Sense, and the 21st Century's Hottest Topic.

     

    Steve is scheduled to speak at the Chapter House of AKΛ on Wednesday, October 20th at 7pm, as part of the Executive Speaker Series.  The lecture and slide show is titled, "Climatism: Mankind in the Grip of Madness".  This event is another value added service provided to our Active members through the support of our Alumni members.

    Steve Grossmann has spent over 20 years working in Accounting, Finance and Information technology roles. Steve currently serves in the Technology Growth Platform business unit leading services in North America, South East Asia, India and China. He serves Global Energy, Chemical, and Manufacturing clients such as DuPont, TNK BP, BHP Billiton, and Whirlpool.  He holds a double major in Accounting and Finance.  He is a distinguished alumnus of Alpha Kappa Lambda, Gamma chapter.

     

    Steve is scheduled to speak at the Chapter House of AKɅ on Wednesday, November 1st at 7pm, as part of the Executive Speaker Series.  The lecture is titled, “Technology and Global Commerce”.  This event is another value added service provided to our Active members through the support of our Alumni members.

  • Spring, 2011

     

    Gerald Salzman is the President/CEO/CFO of Daily Journal Corporation.  The Daily Journal Corporation publishes newspapers and web sites for California, Nevada and the California Lawyer magazine. The Company produces several specialized information services, in both print and online, including Court Rules, Judicial Profiles, Bankruptcy and Real Estate services.  Jerry holds an Engineering Degree from the University of Illinois and is a distinguished Alumnus of Alpha Kappa Lambda, Gamma chapter.

     

    Jerry is scheduled to speak at the Chapter House of AKɅ in the Spring of 2011, as part of the Executive Speaker Series.  His topic will be "The Mind of the CEO".  This event is another value added service provided to our Active members through the support of our Alumni members.
